Treorchy (Mid Glamorgan)
The temporary banking hub currently located in the former Barclays building on Bute Street is moving
Due to the lease on this location ending, the banking hub will be moving temporarily to the library while necessary work is being carried out to install the permanent hub which is going to be located inside the Co-op.
The current hub in the former Barclays on Bute Street closed on Wednesday 19 February and the new temporary hub will open in the library on Station Road at 9am on Tuesday 25 February.
While the hub is being relocated you will be able to access cash services from the local Post Office and free to use ATMs - you can find available cash services through the LINK Cash Locator.
Work begins on the permanent home for Treorchy Banking Hub
The temporary hub in the library will remain open while work is underway to install the permanent hub inside Co-op. Finding a site with long-term availability that satisfies the necessary criteria including size, condition and location can take several months. We are delighted to have reached an agreement with the Co-op to takeover unused space in their premises and find a location which meets all accessibility requirements, offers up to two hours free parking and is only a short distance from the high street.
- What services will be available?
Open Monday-Friday, 9am-5pm, each banking hub has a counter operated by the Post Office where you can access cash services whenever the hub is open and whoever you bank with:
- pay in cash (notes and coin) and cheques
- withdraw cash (notes and coin)
- check your balance
- pay utility bills
- top up your gas and electricity
- access change-giving services (for registered businesses)
You can also talk to a community banker from your bank on the day your bank is in the hub. There is a private space where you can talk face-to-face about more complicated banking enquiries like payments and transfers, managing your account, and how to use online banking. You can view the services available from community bankers from the Community Banker Services page.
- Which community bankers will be at the hub?
We will be able to tell you nearer the time which banks will provide a community banker.
The banks supporting the hubs in the UK are:- AIB NI
- Bank of Ireland UK
- Bank of Scotland
- Barclays

- Halifax
- HSBC
