Banking Hub opens in Auchterarder

Published on 26 November 2024

Auchterarder's new banking hub is now open in a temporary home inside Aytoun Hall, High Street.

The Hub is open five days a week and will remain available in its temporary home until the new permanent Banking Hub opens. It offers a counter service operated by the Post Office, where customers of all major banks can carry out regular cash transactions, Monday to Friday, 9am-5pm. It also offers a Community Banker service where customers can talk to their own bank about more complicated issues on the day their bank is in the Hub:

Monday: Virgin Money
Tuesday: Royal Bank of Scotland
Wednesday: Bank of Scotland
Thursday: Santander
Friday: No community banker available

While the temporary Hub is up and running, Cash Access UK is working to progress plans for the permanent Hub. The team submitted a planning application to turn the former High Street public toilet block into a permanent banking Hub. The plans have now been approved and while the team continue to work hard to progress this, the temporary Hub will remain open. Local residents can check for updates on our website.

With the opening of the Auchterarder Hub, there are now 13 hubs open in Scotland and 11 more are in progress.

Gareth Oakley, CEO at Cash Access UK: “With the opening of the new temporary Banking Hub in Auchterarder, I am delighted to say that local residents and businesses can now access cash and face-to-face banking services once again.“

Councilor Steven Carr: “It’s great to see the hard work and cooperation put in between Cash Access UK and myself, along with the full support of Perth and Kinross Council, finally seeing the opening of a Banking Hub in Auchterarder. The opportunity to deliver banking services back to the area was fully supported by the local businesses. Many business owners have told me that they have been looking forward to the opening, and welcome the ability to once again conduct their banking locally without the need to take too much time off. A substantial number of local residents have also been looking forward to the Banking Hub, and once again having the ability to discuss their banking needs on a face-to-face basis, especially those that are not as comfortable with online banking.”
