Bringing banking back to the High Street: 11 new hubs in one day!

On Wednesday 5 March, we opened an unprecedented 11 new banking hubs.

That's 11 communities and countless people who have had crucial banking services restored to them locally.

Market Harborough opened on Monday (3 March) followed by a further hub in Whitby on 6 March, making a total of 13 brand new hubs in just one week.

The 11 hubs that opened on Wednesday are in Redruth, Hayle, Fleetwood, Keynsham, Wetherby, Alsager, Bakewell, Ballynahinch, Dorking, Dunbar, and Newland.

These new hubs join a growing network of banking hubs across the UK, providing vital access to cash and face-to-face banking to people and communities who need them most.

Banking hubs are shared spaces where customers of all major banks can access essential banking services. They offer a counter service operated by the Post Office for day-to-day transactions such as cash withdrawals, deposits, and balance checks.

Additionally, community bankers from different banks are available on specific days to assist with more complex banking needs.

As of today, 128 banking hubs are in operation across England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland.
