Crieff Banking Hub official opening
Our new Banking Hub in Crieff has today officially opened at 17 High Street.
The Hub will offer a counter service operated by the Post Office, where customers of all major banks can carry out regular cash transactions, Monday to Friday, 9am-5pm. It will also offer a Community Banker service where customers can talk to their own bank about more complicated issues on the day their bank is in the Hub. Community Bankers will work on rotation, with a different bank available on each day of the week:
Finding the right location for a Banking Hub that is convenient, accessible and works for everyone often takes time, so Cash Access UK is delighted to have been able to secure convenient premises in the heart of the community. Our team has been working hard to fit out the premises over the past few months in preparation for the opening.
The Hub was recommended by LINK, the UK’s cash access and ATM network, following confirmation of the closure of the town’s last bank branch. This is the twelfth Banking Hub to open in Scotland, with 11 more Hubs set to open across the country.
As a result of the new Hub, Cash Access UK can confirm the temporary hub which was set up at Crieff Connexions has now closed.
Gareth Oakley, CEO, Cash Access UK: “We’re pleased to open the Banking Hub in Crieff at its permanent home on the High Street. We’re very grateful to Crieff Connexions who gave us the space for a temporary hub while we carried out the necessary work on the permanent location. Cash and banking is very important for millions of people and we’re pleased to be helping many communities with new services on their high street.”
Cllr Stewart Donaldson: “I have immense pleasure in cutting the ribbon at the official opening of the new Banking Hub in Crieff. This has particular significance to me. My late father was manager of the old British Linen Bank across the road back in the 1960’s and early 70’s. It is vitally important to our community that – despite bank branches closing – people and businesses can still access cash and basic banking services. Thank you to everyone involved in bringing banking back to our high street through our new Banking Hub.”
