Published on 5 October 2024

A new Banking Hub for Filey has opened in a temporary home at 16 Belle Vue Crescent, Filey.

The temporary Hub will be open five days a week and will remain available until the new permanent Banking Hub opens. It offers a counter service operated by the Post Office, where customers of all major banks can carry out regular cash transactions, Monday to Friday, 9am-5pm. It also offers a Community Banker service where customers can talk to their own bank about more complicated issues on the day their bank is in the Hub:

Monday: Santander AM / NatWest PM

Tuesday: Halifax (from 4 November)

Wednesday: Barclays

Thursday: Virgin Money (from November TBC)

Friday: HSBC

While the temporary Hub is up and running today, Cash Access UK can confirm it is currently working to secure a permanent home for the Banking Hub. In the coming months, we will provide updates and the Hub opening today will remain open until the permanent Hub is up and running. Local residents can also check for updates on our website.

This will be the second Banking Hub to open in North Yorkshire following Knaresborough. There are two more hubs planned for Richmond and Whitby.

Gareth Oakley, CEO at Cash Access UK: “I’m happy to announce that our temporary Banking Hub in Filey is now open. Residents can now enjoy access to cash and face-to-face services once again. We’ll be able to provide an update to the community on a permanent location for the Hub soon.”

Kevin Hollinrake MP: “I'm delighted the banking hub is now open in Filey, having long campaigned for advanced banking services to fil the gap where branches have closed, this is a vital lifeline for residents. I'll continue my push for similar services across the Thirsk and Malton constituency.”

North Yorkshire Council’s leader, Cllr Carl Les: “I know that many residents and businesses in Filey have eagerly anticipated the opening of this banking hub. These services are invaluable especially for our deeply rural and coastal communities, ensuring their access to cash services
