Fleetwood’s banking hub opens

Cash Access UK, the organisation set up to protect access to cash across England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland has opened a temporary home for the banking hub in Fleetwood, located in the Senior Citizens Hall.

Customers of all major banks can visit any weekday between 9am-5pm to carry out regular cash transactions including cash withdrawals and deposits as well as checking balances or paying bills. Additionally, the hub also offers a community banker service where customers can talk to their own bank in a private space about more complicated issues on the day their bank is in the hub:

Monday: Santander

Tuesday: Barclays

Wednesday: No community banker available

Thursday: NatWest

Friday: No community banker available

While the hub in Fleetwood is up and running today, Cash Access UK can confirm it is currently working to secure a long term home for the banking hub which will offer the same services. Local residents can check for updates on our website.

This is the fifth banking hub to open in Lancashire following Bacup, Barnoldswick, Great Harwood and Darwen Another four hubs are planned for Garstang, Kirkham, Morecambe and Nelson. Fleetwood was recommended a banking hub by LINK, the cash access and ATM network, following a community request.

This is one of 11 banking hubs that are being opened across the UK today. The other 10 are in Bakewell, Hayle, Keynsham, Redruth, Wetherby, Alsager, Ballynahinch, Dorking, Dunbar and Newland.

Gareth Oakley, CEO at Cash Access UK: I’m happy to announce that the new banking hub in Fleetwood is now open, giving local residents renewed access to cash and in-person banking services. The hub is available for everyday banking transactions every day of the week, and for more specific or complex enquiries, a community banker will be on-site to assist on designated days.”
