Jedburgh banking hub opens
A new Banking Hub in Jedburgh is open at 40 High Street, the former Bank of Scotland premise.
The official opening will take place between 11am and 12pm on 27th November and Charlie Young, President of Jedburgh Callants Club, will be in attendance to cut the ribbon. Everyone is welcome to attend.
The Hub will offer a counter service operated by the Post Office, where customers of all major banks can carry out regular cash transactions, Monday to Friday, 9am-5pm. It also offers a Community Banker service where customers can talk to their own bank about more complicated issues on the day their bank is in the Hub. In Jedburgh, the Community Bankers are available on the following days:
Monday: TSB
Tuesday: Santander
Wednesday: Bank of Scotland
Thursday: Royal Bank of Scotland
Friday: No Community Banker
The Hub was initially recommended by LINK, the UK’s cash access and ATM network, following the announcement of the closure of the town’s last remaining bank branch. Earlier this year, while the site for the permanent Hub was being refurbished, a temporary Hub was opened in the Hometown Hub. The temporary Hub is now closed.
Jedburgh’s Banking Hub is the 12th to Hub to open in Scotland and 12 more are in progress.
Gareth Oakley, CEO at Cash Access UK: “I’m happy to announce the opening of our Jedburgh Hub, ensuring crucial access to cash and face-to-face banking services which are vital to both residents and businesses across the community. Customers can visit on any day of the week for their everyday banking transactions and if you have a specific or more complex enquiry for your bank, a community banker will be there to help on the day they’re in the Hub.”
