Keynsham makes space for new banking hub
Keynsham's new banking hub is now open in a temporary home inside MakeSpace on Riverside Square.
Customers of all major banks can visit any weekday between 9am-5pm to carry out regular cash transactions including cash withdrawals and deposits as well as checking balances or paying bills. Additionally, the hub also offers a community banker service where customers can talk to their own bank in a private space about more complicated issues on the day their bank is in the hub:
Monday: Halifax (coming soon)
Tuesday: NatWest
Wednesday: Lloyds
Thursday: HSBC
Friday: Barclays
While the hub in Keynsham is up and running today, Cash Access UK can confirm it is currently working to secure a long term home for the banking hub which will offer the same services. Local residents can check for updates on our website.
Keynsham was recommended a banking hub following the announcement of the closure of the final bank branch. This is the second banking hub to open in Somerset with a hub already operating in Wellington. Work is also underway to open hubs in Crewkerne, Frome and Nailsea.
This is one of 11 banking hubs that are being opened today across the UK. The other 10 are in Fleetwood, Hayle, Redruth, Wetherby, Alsager, Bakewell, Ballynahinch, Dorking, Dunbar, and Newland.
Gareth Oakley, CEO at Cash Access UK: “I’m pleased to announce that the new banking hub in Keynsham is now open in its temporary home at MakeSpace, providing local residents with access to cash and in-person banking services. The hub is available for everyday banking transactions every day of the week, and for more specific or complex enquiries, a community banker will be on-site to assist on designated days.”
