Kilwinning Banking Hub official opening

Published on 23 January 2025

On 10 January, Provost Anthea Dickson of North Ayrshire Council officially opened Kilwinning Banking Hub in its permanent home at 144 Main Street.

The hub will continue to offer a counter service operated by the Post Office, where customers of all major banks can carry out regular cash transactions, Monday to Friday, 9am-5pm. There is also a Community Banker service where customers can talk to their own bank about more complicated issues on the day their bank is in the hub. In Kilwinning, the Community Bankers are available on the following days:

Monday: Santander

Tuesday: Royal Bank of Scotland

Wednesday: Bank of Scotland

Thursday: Barclays

Friday: Virgin Money (9:45am - 4:45pm)

Finding the right location for a banking hub that is convenient, accessible and works for everyone often takes time, so Cash Access UK is delighted to have been able to secure convenient premises in the heart of the community. Last year, while the site for the permanent hub was being refurbished, a hub was opened at a temporary location in Kilwinning Library, St Winnings Lane. This location is now closed.

With the opening of the Kilwinning hub, there are now 14 hubs open in Scotland with 11 more in progress.

Gareth Oakley, CEO at Cash Access UK: I’m happy to announce the opening of our Kilwinning hub, ensuring crucial access to cash and face-to-face banking services for residents and businesses across the community. Special thanks to Kilwinning Library for providing us space, while we were working on securing and upgrading our long term home.

“Customers can visit on any day of the week for their everyday banking transactions and if you have a specific or more complex enquiry for your bank, a Community Banker will be there to help on the day they’re in the hub.”
