Mountain Ash: Wales' 9th banking hub opens

Published on 8 February 2025

A ninth banking hub for Wales has opened in Mountain Ash, located in the Town Hall. Two more hubs are planned for the country in Flint and Monmouth.

The hub offers a counter service operated by the Post Office, where customers of all major banks can carry out regular cash transactions, Monday to Friday, 9am-5pm. It also offers a Community Banker service where customers can talk to their own bank about more complicated issues on the day their bank is in the hub:

Monday: HSBC

Tuesday: Lloyds (coming soon)

Wednesday: Halifax (coming soon)

Thursday: Santander

Friday: Barclays

While the hub in Mountain Ash is up and running today, Cash Access UK can confirm it is currently working to secure a long term home for the banking hub which will offer the same services. Local residents can check for updates on our website.

Gareth Oakley, CEO at Cash Access UK: ā€œIā€™m happy to announce that the new banking hub in Mountain Ash is now open in the Town Hall, giving local residents renewed access to cash and in-person banking services. The hub is available for everyday banking transactions every day of the week, and for more specific or complex enquiries, a community banker will be on-site to assist on designated days.ā€
