New banking hub opens in Market Harborough

Market Harborough’s new banking hub is now open in its temporary home inside The Symington Building, headquarters of Harborough District Council.

The hub offers a counter service operated by the Post Office, where customers of all major banks can carry out regular cash transactions, Monday to Friday, 9am-5pm. It also offers a community banker service where customers can talk to their own bank about more complicated issues on the day their bank is in the hub:

Monday: NatWest

Tuesday: Santander (from July)

Wednesday: Lloyds (from April)

Thursday: HSBC (coming soon)

Friday: Barclays

While the hub in Market Harborough is up and running today, Cash Access UK can confirm it is currently working to secure a long-term home for the banking hub which will offer the same services. Local residents can check for updates on our website.

This is the third banking hub to open in Leicestershire following Lutterworth and Syston.

Gareth Oakley, CEO at Cash Access UK: “I’m happy to announce that the new banking hub in Market Harborough is now open, giving local residents access to cash and in-person banking services. The hub is available for everyday banking transactions every day of the week, and for more specific or complex enquiries, a community banker will be on-site to assist on designated days.”

Council leader Phil Knowles: "Although lots of people do their banking online nowadays, there are many residents in the Harborough district who find this difficult, do not have internet access or prefer to do their banking in person. I'm delighted that the council has been able to assist with welcoming the new banking hub temporarily in our council offices."
