Supporting community groups in Cambuslang

Up and down the UK, Banking Hubs provide invaluable services to individuals and community groups alike.

Happy Days Community Group is a volunteer-led community group who provide activities, such as regular fish teas, singers and the occasional bus trip, for older isolated people in Cambuslang.  

Banking Hubs provide access to cash services, such as depositing cash and face-to-face support is available from Community Bankers.  

Through the new Banking Hub, the Community Group were able to seek advice from a Community Banker to set up a suitable bank account, meaning they were able to access available grants more easily. They also use the Hub to regularly bank bags of £1 coins from their members.

“The Banking Hub is within 200 yards of the club easily accessible on Cambuslang Main Street and I suspect if it was not available, we would still be operating out of a cash box and would not be in a position to apply for grant aid”.
