Yeadon banking hub opens

Published on 18 December 2024

Yeadon's new banking hub is now open in Yeadon Town Hall, just in time for Christmas.

The hub offers a counter service operated by the Post Office, where customers of all major banks can carry out regular cash transactions, Monday to Friday, 9am-5pm. It also offers a community banker service where customers can talk to their own bank about more complicated issues on the day their bank is in the hub:

Monday: Santander
Tuesday: HSBC
Wednesday: NatWest
Thursday: Barclays
Friday: No community banker available

On Christmas Eve and New Years Eve, the HSBC community banker will be available in the hub between 9am and 1pm.

While the hub in the Town Hall is up and running today, Cash Access UK can confirm it is currently working to secure a permanent home for the banking hub. Local residents can check for updates on our website.

There are now five banking hubs open in West Yorkshire including Batley, Elland, Ossett, Otley and now Yeadon. Five further hubs are set to open next year across the county in Armley, Normanton, South Elmsall, Todmorden and Wetherby. Last week, the 100th banking hub opened in Darwen, Lancashire.

Gareth Oakley, CEO at Cash Access UK: ā€œIā€™m happy to announce that the new banking hub in Yeadon is now open in the Town Hall, giving local residents renewed access to cash and in-person banking services. The hub is available for everyday banking transactions every day of the week, and for more specific or complex enquiries, a community banker will be on-site to assist on designated days.ā€
